| Notes | I was a first-generation college student, and I am from an economically disadvantaged family. I am the only person in my family to pursue science or academia. I became a scientist because of free experiential science outreach programs and mentorship I received as young person, and I am passionate about being that kind of mentor to future scientists underrepresented in STEM today. I am also passionate about reproductive rights, the genetics of sex, and fishes! Weirdly, I am also in the SAG-AFTRA union. |
